Governor’s Cup Scores Posted

Posted on 30 November 2010 by Rob Gibbs

UPDATED – After a couple of corrections on PHRF/Portsmouth Ratings we have RE-Posted the Results to the Governor’s Cup.

The fleet scores from the 2010 Governor’s Cup are available.  These are the fleet scores, but remember the NOR states that the cup will be awarded to “the boat finishing the race with “outstanding seamanship” over the 26.2 mile course as voted on by a board of volunteers made up of fleet representatives.” So be sure to come to the December Membership Meeting to find out who gets that HUGE Rum Grog…I mean…Trophy…yeah.

AND in case you didn’t remember (ha ha), the December Membership Meeting is always our Buccaneer Gift Exchange!

    Looking at the results of the governors cup my boat was listed as the wrong boat. I sail a prindle 18 not a 19 or 18-2. If my rating was used for the 19 my corrected time will be way off that is a much faster boat.

    Thanks

    Jim Tomes

    To the R/C;

    Thanks for the race and fun.

    Unless I finished in another time zone – my finish time was reported by myself to Mr. Parker (?) via phone as 17:29 local time.

    In fairness to the other two well sailed dinghies, please adjust the results to reflect my finish time. (My VMG as measured by a calculator at home after the race (International Sunfish Class Rules do not allow GPS) was approximately 4.03 mph.)

    Respectfully and sailing slowly -

    Gary H. Oberbeck
    Sunfish #AZ 0

  4. Gary H. Oberbeck Says:

    Rick,

    See you there in 2011, let’s go! Thanks – ‘ironman’ may be confused with hardheaded or dumb.

    PS- If you have a Sunfish sail # “AZ 1″, that or AZ2,AZ3,AZ4 may be one of my old family fleet of ‘fish! One for each of the clan. All sold off ‘cept the primo “AZ O”

    Lets race – Birthday Regatta ? ? If I can’t get crew I may go ‘fish.
