High School Sailing

Tuesday is Sailing Day!

Upwind rounding.

Upwind rounding.

Slam those high school books closed and head for the lake! Spend Tuesday afternoons blasting around Tempe Town Lake and racing around the buoys!

Build Skill and Confidence.  Every Tuesday afternoon during the school year go sailing, starting with a short on-shore discussion followed by plenty of on-the-water-training.

If you know how to sail, we’ll help you learn to sail faster and coach you on how to win sailboat races. If you don’t know how to sail, we’ll bring you up to speed. Along the way you’ll learn about boat handling, safety, right-of-way, and docking. Mostly you’ll have a good time on the water.

Schedule: Tuesday afternoons 4pm until 6:30pm (or dark) at Tempe Town Lake Grassy Knoll. High School Sailing includes both Junior and Senior High School students from any school close to Tempe. Twelve class dates: Beginning 9/15/15 and ending 12/1/15 with no make-up days. Cost: $225. Maximum class size = twenty. Students provide their own PFDs.

We supply the boats and the US Sailing-certified instructors. You bring a PFD (personal flotation device) and a smile.
