High School Sailing

Tempe Town Lake will be empty during much of the spring, so ASF has decided to move the high school class to Lake Pleasant and reduce class size to just eight.

Slam those high school books closed and head for the lake! Spend Tuesday blasting around the lake and racing around the buoys!

Build Skill and Confidence.  Each session begins with a short on-shore discussion followed by plenty of on-the-water-training.

If you know how to sail, we’ll help you learn to sail faster and coach you on how to win sailboat races. If you don’t know how to sail, we’ll bring you up to speed. Along the way you’ll learn about boat handling, safety, right-of-way, and docking. Mostly you’ll have a good time on the water.

Lake Pleasant Schedule: Thursday afternoons 4pm until 6:30pm (or dark), meeting at Spinnaker Point. High School Sailing includes both Junior and Senior High School students from any school. Twelve class dates: Beginning 2/18 and ending 5/5 with no make-up days. Cost: $225. Maximum class size = eight. Students provide their own PFDs.

We supply the boats and the US Sailing-certified instructors. You bring a PFD (personal flotation device) and a smile.
