For more than 35 years award-winning photographer Sharon Green has been capturing the breathtaking excitement of sailboat racing and taking it to a new level of artistry. With an eye for color, light, energy and form, she brings the viewer into the heart of the fray to fully experience the passion, bustle and splendor of yacht racing.
At the January monthly meeting, we’ll host a showing of the film “Fresh to Frightening: The Sharon Green Story.” This 20-minute short film tells the story of how a young woman from Canada – Sharon Green – inspired by her father’s yacht racing triumph, rises to the top through the ’80s and ’90s of a male-dominated industry to become one of the leading competitive yacht racing photographers in the world and the founder of Ultimate Sailing.

Are you curious about sailing and virtual reality? After the film, we will have a short 15-minute presentation by AYC member Don Weaver. Don will be sharing advancements in AI and virtual online sailing. He will share some online resources and the many ways to practice sailing using a PC and internet connection.
