Did anyone make a New Year’s resolution about getting into shape? [promptly raises hand] Well, we’re now a little over a week into 2026 – anyone *still* have that resolution intact?? [slowly lowers hand…]
How about getting the correct shape in your sails? Now that’s a goal worth keeping!
Our January speaker will be Carter Cameron from Quantum Sails and will talk about just that. He’ll discuss the basics of sail shape and design, illustrating what sailmakers look for in sail shape and how they design and build sails to achieve a desired shape.
After designing the sail, the sail must be built out of a cloth type that matches the use and application of the final product. Carter will discuss the types of cloth available and how they each suit the desired application, stretching from racing all the way to basic cruising.

This month’s meeting will be on Tuesday, January 13 at 7 pm. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for socializing and dinner. Guests are welcome!
Location: Dave and Busters in Tempe Marketplace (in the Showroom)
2000 E Rio Salado Pkwy / Suite 1100 / Tempe AZ 85281
