The AYC Volunteer Service Award recognizes and expresses our appreciation to those outstanding member volunteers whose substantial and unselfish service has made a significant difference in the AYC sailing community.
These folks contribute tirelessly to one area over many years or plan and nurture a new idea into becoming a permanent fixture within our club. They may also be that person who consistently offers help whenever and wherever needed. They may be more visible or behind the scenes, but these are the volunteers that create, enhance and support our major social events, club activities and programs with their acts of service.
The acts of service may be related to racing, cruising, fundraising, board involvement, education, instructing & coaching, boat and equipment maintenance, building fleets, welcoming new members, organizing or helping with special events & regattas, and administration, to name a few.
The recipient of this award is eager to help, reliable, passionate, creative, and patient, and appears to have boundless energy. They care. They enjoy discovering and implementing new or improved ways of getting things done and are universally described as an asset to our club.
The Board of Directors is charged with selecting the recipient. This award will be considered on an annual basis and awarded at the Commodore’s Celebration.
