He’ll share his journey and tell us all about the exciting, new, fun sport of wing sailing and foiling.

Chris Smith: Wing Sailing and Foiling
You already know how to sail, so why not take your airborne game to the next level? Try wing sailing and foiling! Chris will share his transition from racing a J/80 to wing sailing and foiling.
He’ll explain how he got into board sports—which bodes well for anybody that wants to try them – and how sailing gave him an important leg up on wing surfing, and why it is SO MUCH FUN.
Then he’ll bring it home to Arizona. Chris has worked with Cabrinha, the leading brand for kite surfing and wing surfing gear, to include Arizona in their 2022 RV Demo Tour of America! The tour will be here in June and showcases Cabrinha’s kitesurfing and windsurfing gear. Tempe’s Riverbound Sports will also be there with their line of stand-up paddleboards (SUPs).
The Grill at Rolling Hills Golf Course
The City of Tempe is permitting AYC to use The Grill for our monthly meetings. Our usage is after their normal operating hours, which means that we’ll have the facility to ourselves and that Tempe will incur added labor costs for providing after-hours kitchen and wait staff. As part of our arrangement, they ask that we generously support their staff with food and beverage orders to defray labor costs.
