A volunteer position I’ve been thinking about for the past two years is that of a club editor. Writing is a challenge for me and takes more time than I am willing to admit. I think this might hold true for many others too. I am pleased to introduce you to the new AYC Club Editor, Judy Romano.
Judy will be available to help you tell your sailing, boat building, regatta, cruising, or another related story. We both recognize there are talented writers in this club, but even good writers appreciate having a second pair of eyes on their work. We also recognize that writing might just keep us from hearing about some great story you’d like to share. Judy is available to assist you.

Judy is an award-winning journalist and former network news anchor with The Associated Press. She started her career in the US Air Force before moving to several commercial radio stations on her way to AP headquarters in Washington DC. She is an avid traveler, blogging about her adventures and also blogging daily about gratitude and joy. She and her husband, Greg, are new members to AYC. He’s been sailing his whole life and she’s excited to learn more about it!
Judy will work directly with the Vice Commodore and other BOD members to publish timely and pertinent information. She will also take on most of the publishing to our website. If you’d like Judy’s help with sharing your sailing or boat related story, please contact her directly. Her contact information is also located on the “About” page of the website. Look under “Additional Contacts”.
Thank you Judy and welcome to the AYC volunteer team!
