As the Women of the Arizona Yacht Club (WAYC) Committee gains traction within the club, our first event is a Women’s Race Clinic. WAYC is hosting a full-day “skills and drills” sailing clinic on April 1 from 9AM to 4PM at Tempe Town Lake.

This event is meant to improve upon current sailing skills by working on boat handling and speed, enabling more ladies to feel comfortable skippering in races. Participants will receive hands on instruction from other women sailors and have an opportunity to address barriers to sailing with members of the WAYC.

The clinic will be held at the Tempe Town Lake Marina with indoor talks and lunch at the nearby Hundred Mile Brewing. To maximize tiller-time, participation is limited to 15 sailors, however all are welcome for post-sailing activities at Hundred Mile Brewing. Click below to register – there is no cost and any lady AYC sailor is welcome to sign up.
