March Meeting: Cruising the Sea of Cortez

By Ed Scheletsky, Rear Commodore

Who isn’t dreaming of an awesome sailing vacation to the Sea of Cortez? Imagine kicking back and relaxing aboard a 45-foot catamaran while enjoying the marine life, sunsets, and sipping a “Long Island” or two. YES PLEASE!

Vicki Vandruff

At our March Meeting, we’ll welcome Vicki Vandruff from West Coast Multihulls to discuss catamaran sailing and the relaxed lifestyle of cruising the Sea of Cortez. Vicki will be sharing her journeys along the way, and she’ll dive into logistics, weather, and some fun to be had en route from Loreto to La Paz.

Guests are always welcome at our monthly meetings so invite a friend and come early for the dinner and social hour beginning at 6 pm.

Tuesday, March 12 at 7 pm

Vicki grew up on power boats but learned to sail in 2010. Since then she’s been involved in racing and has cruised in Mexico for three years aboard her Herreshoff Caribbean 50. She loves that she’s finally able to merge her passion with her profession. She’s an amazing woman and this is sure to be a great evening.

Speaking of cruising, our Cruising Captain Joe Motil is gathering interest in a Loreto area cruise this October. See the details on our 2024 Cruising Schedule page or contact Joe by email.

For inquiring minds, below is a sneak peek preview of West Coat Multihulls one-way, 5-day cruise from Loreto to La Paz.
