Brian Janney, expert sailor and manager at North Sails in San Diego, will be our July guest speaker. He will discuss his experience in the Transpac to Hawaii race and sail design for racing.

Janney is considered an expert at sailmaking. He started making sails at age 15 and has continued in the trade for 25 years. He is also the segment lead for the Grand Prix in North America.
A two-time world champion, Janney has won 11 National/North American Championships and the Congressional Cup twice. As part of the Pywacket and Pyewacket 70 crew, he’s helped secure wins in the Pacific Cup, the SD to PV Race, the Cabo Race, the Caribbean 600, and the Islands Race. Brian has been in the winner’s circle for several other familiar races, including Block Island Race Week, the Chicago Mackinac Race, and the Newport to Ensenada Race.
