With summer coming to an end and the kids going back to school, the team of dedicated officers you seated are busy keeping AYC on course toward another great season of racing, cruising activities, fun social events, and annual Regattas.

The annual summer campout is this weekend, Aug 6-8 at Dairy Springs up near Flagstaff. According to organizer, Joanne Aspinall, there is still availability in the group area with space for small trailers or tents. The forecast is ideal with highs in the low 80’s and low’s in the mid 50’s. It’s not to late to let Joanne know you’d like to head North for the weekend. Emory and I will be doing some early morning hikes on the AZ Trail and others are bringing some games. Remember you can always come up for the day and the potluck dinner on Saturday. Come join us! Click here for more information.
Volunteers are always needed for our events. The next big event for our club is the Fall Racing Series and our Opening Day Celebration on Saturday, September 18th. Please review this Opening Day Volunteer Opportunities Survey and see where you might be able to help out. I’ll just add that I was shore crew in 2019 and had a blast.
Over the next few months, you’ll be presented with additional volunteer surveys related to Cruising events and our annual Regatta’s: the Ruth Beal’s Cup, Governor’s Cup, Birthday Regatta & Leukemia Cup, and the Tall Cactus Regatta.
Whether you can volunteer one time or many, it’s the members that keep the wind in our sails. I look forward to sailing, socializing and making new friends as we voyage through this next year together. ALL ABOARD!!!

P.S. In each member’s profile there is the question, “What’s your reason for wanting to join?” I extracted the answers and plugged them into an online word art generator. Just wanted to share this cool word art graphic with you – it made me smile! ♥
