2022 Ruth Beals Race is October 22 at Lake Pleasant

AYC Founder Ruth Beals

Volunteers Needed: Race Committee PRO plus 4 others to serve on RC.

The all-woman Ruth Beals Cup Regatta will be held at Lake Pleasant on Saturday, October 22, with the first horn at 1:00 pm. It’s for women at the helm in run-what-you-brung boats rated by PHRF handicap. Alexia Lorch is the defending champion to beat this year.
The race is named for the founder of AYC, Ruth Beals, and offers a chance for the women of the club to compete against other women. Men are allowed to lend a boat and crew, but not get too close to the tiller. There will be a single long-distance race around Horse Island and a northern mark back to a finish line.

After Race Social – We’ll finish off the day with some food and socializing at Wild Horse West. There will be a few tables reserved out on the patio for everyone to gather around. Remember this is a CASH ONLY restaurant, so bring the greenbacks.

Have a boat you’d like to share for the day? Interested in encouraging more women to take the helm? Have experience at the helm but don’t have a boat? Help grow this event with your participation.

Contact Deb Heisler if you want to skipper a boat or have one you’d like to enter for a woman to drive. We’ll do our best on the matchmaking! Willing to serve on Race Commitee? Get in touch with Deb ASAP.
