By Emory Heisler, ASF President
The Arizona Sailing Foundation (ASF) Sailing Programs continue this fall with sailing classes for all ages, and WE NEED YOUR HELP!
As a reminder, ASF is a 501c3 Non-Profit Community Sailing School – separate from AYC but operated almost 100% by AYC volunteers. ASF offers sailing classes and sailing opportunities in the spring and fall for:
- AYC members (Adopt-a-Boat and Tiller Time)
- Adult Learn to Sail
- High School Sailing
- Junior Learn to Sail & Racing
- Community sailing with partners like scouts, boys/girls clubs and homeschoolers.
HOW does ASF do it? Well, primarily with AYC volunteers. That’s where YOU come in. Share your passion and talent for sailing and support ASF’s mission!

Contact ASF to see how you can lend a hand in any of these roles for any age group:
- On the water coaching and instruction
- On-shore support during classes
- Fleet maintenance
- Marketing programs and marketing materials design
- And more…
Interested in helping out? Come out and join the ASF Team and mess around with some boats! Send an email to ArizonaSailingFoundation@gmail.com, or call/text us at (480) 269-2699.
“Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.”
Kenneth Grahame, The Wind in the Willows
