Join us for the Arizona Yacht Club Annual “Women at the Helm” Race!

Arizona Yacht Club invites you to our annual “Women at the Helm” Regatta, the Ruth Beals Cup! This thrilling race is dedicated to honoring our club founder, Ruth Beals, and serves to crown the “Top Woman Sailor in Arizona.” Will it be Lori Lorenz who clinched the victory in 2022? Or will another woman’s name be etched on the trophy? It’s a day of excitement, competition, and camaraderie you won’t want to miss. 

One catch: a woman must be on the tiller at all times. Fellas, you’re invited, but leave the driving to the ladies.

Schedule:

• 9:00 AM: Enjoy a grab-n-go breakfast at Spinnaker Point to fuel up for the day’s racing.
• 10:00 AM: Mandatory Skipper’s Meeting at Spinnaker Point.
• 12:55 PM – 2:00 PM: Get ready for a pursuit race! The starting time for each boat is based on your boat’s PHRF rating, with the fastest boats starting last.  
• 5:30 PM (approximately): Join us for a Post-Race Social at the Spinnaker Point Ramada. Here, we will present the perpetual Ruth Beals Cup to the first-place finisher. Food and beverages will be available for registered participants, crew, and guests. Extra meals must be purchased at the time of registration.

Your registration includes a free breakfast of bagels and cream cheese, OJ and cold brew coffee for you and your crew, one dinner, and one T-shirt (if registered prior to October 7, 2023).

You can purchase EXTRA shirts and meals for your crew and guests during registration. Extra shirts are available in women’s and men’s sizes S to XXL for $20 each. Extra meals are $10 each.
