Congratulations to Arik Li, recipient of the AYC Junior Scholarship Award. Arik took the time to draw a picture and answer the question, “Why do I want to learn how to sail?” You can read what he had to say below.
This is Arik’s second year in junior sailing, with his first sailing experience being the ASF Kids Intro to Sailing course at Tempe Town Lake. He’s in 4th grade, has a purple belt in karate, and enjoys music. He also plays the piano and is in the school’s drum line.

The Junior Scholarship is available each spring and fall and is open to AYC juniors enrolled in an ASF junior class. We will market the next application period in the newsletter, but you can also find it on the Sailing Classes page of this website.
