It’s election time for the Arizona Yacht Club! Electronic ballots will be emailed to all eligible voting members on record as of April 1, 2024. The email will include a link that takes you directly to the ballot, and voting will likely take less than one minute. Only one ballot per membership is allowed. If you need to vote in person, contact Marshall Williamson.

You’ll receive your electronic ballot when voting opens on Tuesday, April 23, at 6:00 am. You can vote until the polls close on Wednesday, May 8, at 6:00 pm. The new board will be official after ballot certification on May 9, 2023.
This year’s Nominating Committee included Dianna Andress, Kate Crowther, Grant Harless, Ed Huntsman, Bruce Lee, Rachel Kennett, Paul Liszewski, Joel Ogelsbee, Ron Simzyk, and Greg Woodcock.

Two-year term continuance: Bob Naylor will become Sr. Staff Commodore, and Olivia Jackman will complete her second year as Membership Director.

– Secretary: Sean Kenealy (moved from Junior to Full membership for this position)
Proposed Bylaw Change
The AYC Board approved the following bylaws change, which will appear on the ballot for your vote (edits in red).
ARTICLE 12.1.3 – Safety Committee
All members of the Safety Committee must be Voting Members of the Club. The Safety Committee shall be comprised of a Chair appointed by the Commodore, one representative appointed by the Racing Captain, and one representative appointed by the Cruising Captain and other volunteer members. The Safety Committee shall advise and make recommendations to the Commodore and the Racing and Cruising Captains on the safe and orderly operation of Club vessels and shall maintain and communicate Emergency Action Plans for club cruising and racing events. At the direction of the Commodore, Racing Captain, or Cruising Captain, the Safety Committee shall investigate safety incidents and provide a written report of its findings and recommendations to the Board of Directors.
