Yo ho, Yo ho… A Pirate’s Life for Me!
Our Cruising Captain Joe Motil is at it again – he’s been busy planning and securing another fun cruising adventure for AYC members and their families.
Working with The Los Angeles Maritime Institute, Joe has reserved a tall ship for June 2025. How cool would spending a few days aboard a tall ship be? This trip is customized, so you won’t find it on their website. However, they are non-profit and do some other very cool stuff.
Dates: June 26-29, 2025 – Charter is located in San Pedro, CA
- Thursday, June 26 – Thursday evening, dinner ashore. You may board the ship and stow your gear around 7PM. You have the option to sleep aboard.
- Friday, June 27 – Set sail for Catalina Harbor. Drop Anchor & spend the night. Dinner onboard. History talk and learn about sailing tall ships.
- Saturday, June 28 – Raise the hook and sail to Isthmus Harbor with a stop at Emerald Bay. Overnight at Isthmus Harbor. Dinner ashore.
- Sunday, June 29 – Raise the hook and sail back to San Pedro.
Costs: $500 per person with a $250 non-refundable deposit made by Dec 2, 2024. The final payment is due two weeks before June 5, 2025.
Joe needs 30 hale and hearty souls to secure the charter. This weekend will surely be unique and memorable. Please get in touch with Joe Motil ASAP to indicate your interest.
If we can get 60 people to commit, we can charter two tall ships. There will be cannons fired! Arrrr!
Everyone aboard will share open bunk spaces, each measuring 28 x 74 inches. There are two heads and one shower aboard. Pay-for-use showers are also available at Isthmus Harbor.
