Sailing at Tempe Town Lake is convenient, for sure, but can sometimes be…well, this is a family club, so we’ll just say…challenging. Meanwhile, our larger lake to the North, Lake Pleasant, is a longer drive for many, but offers a wider expanse of water, and, usually, more consistent winds. A great place for the keel boats to race and cruise. But why should the big boats have all the fun? The first weekend of November will be the little boats’ turn – Dinghy Days on Lake Pleasant!

The main racing will run Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, with an option for (spooky?) on-the-water practice Friday afternoon. The Saturday night BBQ, Skipper’s meeting, launching, and camping will be at our new home on the lake, the Spring Canyon Beach Launch. Registration includes one long-sleeve shirt and one ticket to the dinner, so make sure to purchase more for your crew (if you have ’em)!
Not a dinghy sailor? We need helpers! Sign up here to volunteer.
Buccaneers, Lasers, Sunfish, MC Scows, multi-hulls, and more – let’s go have fun on the big lake!
“The big boats get the glory, but the small boats make the sailor.”
Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 film “Wind”
