Powerboat Operators for Tempe Town Lake & Lake Pleasant
To drive an AYC-owned powerboat for race committee duties at Lake Pleasant or an ASF-owned boat at Tempe Town Lake, operators must be 18 or older and be certified through a US Sailing course or hold one of the following certifications or credentials.
You must also attend an AYC-on-the-water practical before being approved. Training is typically held in the Fall of each year.
Copies of your course certificate can be sent to admin@arizonayachtclub.org for our records.
Qualifying certification or credential:
- ASA/AB = Powerboating Made Easy
- Basic = US Sailing-Safe Powerboat Handling
- BoatUS = BoatUS Safe Boating Course (Free online course)
- PI = US Sailing Safe Powerboat Instructor
- PBRC = US Sailing Powerboat & Rescue
- SBIC = US Sailing Small Boat Instructor
