High School Sailing

Slam those books closed, put your phone in a waterproof bag and head for the lake! Spend one afternoon each week during the school year cruising around the lake and racing around the buoys! Cost: $275.

High School sailors learn to race in boats like these, working up to speed and close racing.

Boats: ASF supplies the boats and certified instructors. You bring a PFD (personal flotation device) and a smile.

PFDs: Students provide their own PFDs. Click HERE for information about PFD selection from REI.

Schedule

  • When: Weekly on THURSDAY afternoons, January-April and September-December. Exact dates are updated each Fall and Spring season to account for holidays and school breaks. See details on the registration page.

Learn to Sail – Build Skills and Confidence.  Each session begins with a short on-shore discussion and is followed by plenty of on-the-water training. If you know how to sail, we’ll help you learn to sail faster and coach you on how to win sailboat races. If you don’t know how to sail, we’ll bring you up to speed. Along the way, you’ll learn about knots, boat vocabulary, boat handling, safety, “rules of the road,” docking, and more. Mostly you’ll have a good time “messing around with boats.”
