KEY OPPORTUNITIES:
US Sailing Level 1 (L1) Instructors: Lead classes for the level that fits for you! Adults or Kids. Bring your L1 cert, current or expired, or just your skills and passion for sharing sailing. ASF will REIMBURSE* the costs for you to renew expired certifications and we also host L1 Instructor courses semi-annually, also REIMBURSABLE*. Help build the next generation of sailors with the ASF. Find out more about the L1 Instructor program and reimbursement rules HERE.
Sailing Class Coaches: No certifications required, just good dinghy sailing skills and a passion for teaching and sharing sailing. Help out on-board with Adult Learn to Sail students and by sailing alongside juniors in Opti classes. See Opti class info HERE and Adult Learn to Sail Class HERE.
Boat Maintenance: Help us keep the fleet ready for classes performing routine maintenance while learning about boat rigging and “materials science.”
Class Scheduling Coordinator (“back office”): This administrative role doesn’t even require sailing skills. Help the ASF team “share the load” by coordinating plans and communications with students, the City of Tempe, AYC and ASF volunteers.
Fundraising Coordinator (“back office) : ASF relies on donations and class fees to fund operations. The person in this role will help design, plan and facilitate fundraising and marketing activities and campaigns.
Systems Coordinator (“back office): Use your software management skills to help ASF manage registrations, website pages, social media, system integrations and electronic communications. Basic software skills required, familiarity with Microsoft products (Word, Excel) and ability to learn “Off the Shelf” products like Wild Apricot and WordPress.
