The time has come once again for the annual Arizona Yacht Club (AYC) Birthday Regatta for Charity, a weekend-long event filled with exciting races, camaraderie, and fun. This year’s regatta is scheduled to take place at Lake Pleasant the weekend of February 13-15, 2026.
An event of this magnitude wouldn’t be possible without the assistance of our dedicated volunteers. We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals ready to contribute their time and energy in various areas that are pivotal to the success of the regatta.
Race Committee
As part of the Race Committee, you’ll help our PRO, Rob Gibbs, by setting up race courses, starting races, recording finishes, and ensuring fair competition. Previous experience in racing or race management would be beneficial. Power boat certification is also helpful.
Food Service
If you have a knack for serving up food and making sure everyone gets the same serving size, we need your skills! Help us keep our racers and spectators well-fed Saturday night by assisting with serving food and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness in food service areas.
Setup/Clean Up
Join our setup/clean-up team if you’re able-bodied and willing to help with physical tasks. Responsibilities include setting up and decorating on Thursday and cleaning up afterwards on Sunday, plus a bit in between – it’s an essential role that keeps everything running smoothly!
Registration
Help us welcome participants and attendees by volunteering at our registration desk. Duties include checking-in participants, distributing information packets and answering any questions about the event.
A/V at the Anchor Drop
Our party at the Anchor Drop building needs someone to help setup, breakdown and handle all the audio and visual for the entertainment, announcements, and our scrolling sponsors.
Floaters
Not sure where you’d like to volunteer? No problem! As a floater, you’ll fill gaps wherever help is needed most during the event.
